Well Taff's it seems we moved into 2nd place while I was
visiting the mouse in Disney. I alas have been committed (not to an insane
aslyum, though I could use the rest)
, but to
work kids and life in general. I have recently noiced that several, (12) of my
teammates have moved agead of me. Well gloves on and time to reclaim 2nd Place,
A warning has been issued to all above me , except the high and mighty Lord
Speedy
. I shall
live on the erg until I have reclaimed my spot and maybe 4th Place.
As for
Bike rides, I have done two centuries and have four more planned this year, as
well as the 250 mile,9/11 ride to raise money for widows and orphans of ther
NYPD. But Carla my love a 37 lb. bike would kill me. You are my idol, My road
bike weighs in at 14.8 Lbs. And if I lose twenty pounds, well how fast would I
go
Any
way teammates time to put up the taff meters, because Im back and fat from
Vacation. Best to all , Happy fourth of July, Mike

Yep...been
chasing him all week and caught up this weekend after a couple of monster
sessions. Question is whether to stay in the hunt or wind down for a really
quick 2k run. Think I'll take a run at a 2k in the coming couple of days without
two much time off knowing I can do a little better with a bit more rest in the
legs. I have been doing a few training sessions where I have held 1.45-1.47 pace
without too much bother for over 1k so it is just a matter of gritting the teeth
and getting on with it.

Porky, it's a bit early isn't it?! I'm staying over on the Friday night to make
sure I'm fresh for my race (didn't want to travel up in the morning as I'd be
stressed after 90 minutes in a car with the kids and my wife!).
I've made
a note of everyone's race times and will be cheering on everyone. It would be
great if we could sort out a "team" photo as it could be a rare moment to get a
large portion of Taff Attack together (I've got a special t-shirt I've made just
for the occasion - more of that on Saturday!).

Team
Oarsome and MAD team (in the UK) are looking to set up a relay race. After
someone asked whether the Sub 7 IRC team could join in, I asked why no one had
mentioned it to Taff Attack (see link
here).
Anyway, it seems it going to be a relay race of
4 women and 6 men. No details yet (as far as I can see) on venue, date,
distance, or rules) but I thought you'd like to know all the
same.

Just got in from watching the team at Evesham, top effort
from everybody. I did not get there in time to watch Niall but I did get to meet
him in person and have a bit of team banter. All of the team, the girls the boys
everybody tried to the max and put in the top efforts. The Taff Attack rowing
suits were the tops and stood out a mile. Grumpy has had the flue all week but
still started in the 60-69 group but nature got the better of him and he had to
pull up at about 1000m. seen hanging out of the window for air, good effort to
start, well done grumpy.
Good team spirit good atmosphere, well done

What a fantastic event Evesham was. I thought Taff Attack
really put themselves on the map today and enhanced our reputation for gutsy
performances. The image of Chippy's ergo hopping forward as he kick-started his
race with some 1:22 splits will stay with me for a while I can tell you.
Taff Attack are without doubt the best turned out team and hopefully
we'll see some eveidence of it as soon as the digital photos are made
public.
Awesome gritty performances by the Ramboyo, Dykie, Chris (who was
in a particularly strong heat), Sue and Tracy, Eddie and Grumpy (who still sat
on the erg despite a chest infection), made me really proud I can tell
you!!
Can't wait for the photos!!

I pulled a 5.25.5 yesterday. The plan was build around
1:42's, but in the race I really wanted 1:43's (coz I was dying like). The
problem was everytime the monitor showed 1:43 there was a big outcry from behind
me so I thought I better stick to the 42's. Worked in the end - Cheers guys the
support really made a difference

Hey everyone, sorry I've been AWOL. My computer has had
it's head up its behind for about 2 weeks now, so I am using my husband's. You
guys have been really cooking along! Great go at Evesham, I wish I could have
been there to holler for you all. I can't see any of the pictures, all the links
just say "user posted image" and they won't do anything. I want to see'um!
Anyone have any idea why I can't open them?
I have been biking a lot to
get ready for my first century ride 7/24, and not rowing at all as my back is
feeling on the verge of disaster. I've just got to hold together till the
century is past. Saturday I did 3 x 25 miles at exactly 15.6 for each go, 5
minutes rest between to refill water bottles. The last one felt like 10 mph
because my legs were so dead, but when I got home it was still pegged at 15.6. I
should have eaten; I went right after breakfast (toast) and had a blueberry
muffin after 50 miles. Next go around I will eat more and see if I can stretch
the distance a bit because after 75 I didn't think there was anything left in
the tank at all.
People I meet at group bike rides are always amazed at
my hill climbing ability but when I tell them to try indoor rowing, because
that's how I got this way, they don't want to work so hard. They don't think it
would be fun. Though some may be converted if we keep riding
together.
Happy Birthday Godfried, welcome new members, hope everyone is
well--I still need to go back a few pages and see what else I've
missed!

It may have been a temporary
problem that meant that your PC couldn't load the images from the host Niall's
using (photobucket.com IIRC). Try viewing the page again and the images might
appear this time. If they don't, right click and view the image's Properties.
Copy & Paste the address/URL into a new browser window, and you might be
able to view the image that way, or at least get a more meaningful error
