I've set-up the Taff Attack team for the C2 January challenge. So I need some details from folks who want to join the C2 virtual team and play in January.

Once you're added http://www.concept2.com/sranking03/log_team.asp will show the Taff Attack standing (it's a bit like Daren's CTC stuff for the UK site).

Chippy the brave did 22:55.0 today in his garage of pain. A new PB of 30 secs for him. I going to take the credit on this one though because I picked a number out of the air (1:54), told him he could do it, and walked away!

This improves TAII by 40 secs, and just needs a LWT (I know its coming Niall - no rush mate) to complete the team. With the efforts from the other comeback kings (Porky, Godfried, and Lynsey), our third boat is only short of a LWT too.

I am confident our 2nd team captain will make a show, and boost our times further, and give the start of a 4th team.

Row on people, the futures bright, the futures red, white, and green!

Sorry guys, I know I've been a bit slow to the battle. Please be patient, I want to make sure I put in a good performance. I've got a performance test to do on Friday (which will feed my new training programme) so need to be in tip top condition for that to get the most out of it. Couple of days rest to get rid of the fatugue and then I'm up for it! Trust me, I wont let the team down.

Would like to welcome Gareth Storey to the team. Gareth is a LWT from Minehead and can see Wales from his bedroom window, and was just wandering about aimlessly in the independants. He's also half Welsh so is making his mum proud by joining.

Good news for Dougie and Niall, as they have someone extra to chase in the Lite stakes. This takes our 1st's an extra 5 secs away from MADII.

Cheers butt, stick Taff Attack in your logbook and row on.

Welcome aboard Gareth. Does that mean we get his meters for the University/Team standings as well? Or is he just joining us for the CTC?

All right, so that's 13 seconds behind Mad, less than 3 seconds for each of us to take off.

That's 0.5 sec/500. That's almost nothing. So why am I not excited to try it?????ughgh It still seems like a big stretch just to get that last 0.5 sec/500.

If everyone else in Taff 1 agrees to do it again I will try a 4th time.

Welcome to the Taffs, Gareth.

I saw Gareth on the CTC standings and thought it would be a good idea to get him as another LWT Taff. Perhaps Niall needs to invite Matt Seddon to join (if he doesn't want to (or Eddie doesn't want him to) row a 6K) as that would give the Taffs a third team.

Carla,

Your NO sham Taff mate. You were first to join (the day after Rob and I formed the team), and all we could get out of you was the word - DRAGONS!

I did spot Gareth on the CTC site - with a name like that he was always going to have a welsh connection so I started throwing fishing lines out to him

I go away for a couple of days and come back to a hive of activity in new recruitment and 6K times. Maybe I should go away more often!!

Went to London to take the kids to SantaLand in Earls Court. Was excited in the morning as I suddenly had the thought that I could do the 6K challenge in the hotel gym and then do my physiological test row on Saturday (rather than the Friday). Spent most of the drive to London (2.5 hours) working out tactics for the 6K (to beat Dougie). Got to the hotel, booked into room and then went straight down the gym to check out the facilities. No rowing machine mad.gif !!!! I was devastated!!! sad.gif

So the plan is back to test session on Friday and 6K challenge row as soon after Christmas as I can (when gym is open). Looks like I'll be battle for a place in the Taff Attack II team now (great 6K row Gareth!! cool.gif ).

Well done to Phil as well for his sub-21:00 6K ohmy.gif

Dougie:

If you'll have me for the January Challenge, I'm yours. I expect to pull 300K to 400K in January, depending on work and travel. That would get me to my second million meters for this season, and lifetime (since I just got started).

My ID is 176223 if you need it.

BTW, I'm 100% Russian-American, but I flew over Wales once. Good enough?
